Supervision and consultancy services for mental health and social care professionals
Our experienced practitioners offer supervision and consultancy services for mental health and social care professionals.
Who can we support?
We can provide support for those working in a broad range of common therapeutic approaches including Counselling and Psychotherapy (humanistic and cognitive approaches) and Cognitive-Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and in a wide variety of contexts including: general counselling / adult mental health; LGBT services; couples / relationship counselling; children / young persons; trauma; addictions; and sexual abuse.
We also offer specialist support in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), mindfulness and compassion-based therapy, Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) and systemic approaches.
Types of supervision available
We offer regular, occasional or ad hoc supervision to individuals and groups.
This type of supervision is ideally suited to those wishing to support and develop their practice, or who are working towards accreditation with a relevant professional body. Individual supervision allows time to explore clinical issues and challenges in depth and to develop effective approaches to these.
Group supervision is suited to those wishing to focus on developing their practice in a particular area. Group supervision allows experiences to be shared in a supportive and encouraging way, facilitated by a highly experienced practitioner. Group supervision can also be used in teams to build understanding, improve skills and gain expert input.
We offer expert consultancy on specific issues linked to professional practice in the area of mental health, such as psychometric measures, development of specific therapeutic techniques, report writing, and much more.
CPD and training
Our CPD and training services are available to organisations and groups wishing to develop expertise in particular areas. We also run regular CPD events focusing on contemporary issues in the mental health and therapeutic fields.
How do I get started?
We offer supervision in our Edinburgh centre as well as at our other locations throughout Scotland. We can also ‘meet’ you for supervision by phone or online. Come along for a ‘no-obligation’ initial session during which goals and approach will be discussed. For further details and cost of this session, please contact us.
