Janice's way of working
Janice works collaborately and flexibly to suit each individual client's needs and preferences. She aims to provide clients with a safe and compassionate environment in which they can explore their issues and problems and find ways to move forward.
Janice offers a range of evidence-based therapies including Cognitive-Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Person-Centred Therapies. She also integrates elements of Compassion-Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy into her work as well as incorporating creativity where she feels this is appropriate and may benefit a client.
Janice's background and trainingJanice has worked as a therapist in a number of different settings including: a cancer service, a university counselling service, and within the NHS. Prior to training and working as a therapist, Janice was a commercial interior designer and also lectured in interior design. These creative skills allow her to bring a high level of creativity to her therapeutic work with clients.
Janice has a Doctorate in Counselling Psychology (D Psych) from Glasgow Caledonian University and an MSc in Psychological Studies from the University of Glasgow. In addition, Janice has a BSc in Interior Design from Glasgow Caledonian University.
Janice is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and chartered by the British Psychological Society (BPS).
