Emma Monaghan is an applied psychology practitioner who works with individual adults across a wide variety of issues and concerns, including: anxiety; depression/low mood; stress; bereavement/grief; eating and body image; gender and sexual identity; health-related anxiety and development of coping skills; physical health conditions; healthy behaviours; life transitions; loneliness; obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD); phobias; relaxation; self-harm and many more.

Emma has a particular interest in working with clients who are living with chronic health conditions, supporting individuals to navigate illness and identity.
 

Emma's way of working

Emma is an empathetic and non-judgmental practitioner who adapts her approach to suit the individual needs and preferences of each client. Where helpful, she supplements her core approach of Person-Centred Therapy with elements from a number of other therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive-Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Emotion-Focused Therapy. 
 

Emma’s background and training

Emma has experience in a variety of supportive roles, including as a trainee health psychologist and wellbeing practitioner, delivering psychological and wellbeing interventions to individuals across two UK charities.

Emma holds an MA in Psychology from The University of Edinburgh and an MSc in Health Psychology from the University of Aberdeen. She is currently working towards a doctorate in Health Psychology at Glasgow Caledonian University.
 

Emma's fee
