About Paul:
Works as Business Manager at First Psychology Centre, Edinburgh.

Paul Prescott is the Business Manager of First Psychology. He works alongside the Psychology Services Team to support our clients and practitioners, and he oversees many functions in the organisation including: HR/recruitment, finance, and business development. Paul provides a point of contact for our corporate and organisational clients working with us through our First Psychology Assistance occupational mental health and EAP programmes.

Paul brings a wealth of business experience and knowledge to his role. He has extensive experience of both retail and health / wellbeing organisations, and has held business-related and practice management roles in the occupational health, cosmetics and dentistry sectors. He has also worked extensively as a leadership coach and as a business consultant with small to medium sized businesses.

Paul has a passion for the wellbeing field. In addition to his business-related qualifications and experience, Paul holds a BSc (hons) degree in Psychology, a Diploma in Clinical and Pastoral Counselling, a Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and a Diploma in Coaching and Mentoring. He is a member of the British Psychological Society (MBPsS) and he is currently completing an MSc in Human Resource Management.

During his previous studies, Paul has undertaken research into: the effect of differing cognitive effort in encoding and remembering abstract words and images and the consequence this has on memory recall; the variability and strength of attachment and relationships between dizygotic twin siblings from childhood into adulthood; and whether perceived status of eye witnesses has an impact on the misinformation effect in eye witness testimony.

Paul's current interests include employee wellbeing in the workplace and employee management.
