Dr Lucy Clark is an experienced Clinical Psychologist who works with adults and children. She is presently only able to see clients online.

Lucy has experience working with a range of client issues including: anxiety related issues (generalised anxiety disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), social anxiety, trauma / PTSD, and panic); depression and mood issues; anger; low self-esteem; relationship issues; life transitions; and self-harm.

She has particular experience working with children and adolescents with issues including low self esteem, self-harm, mood, anger, anxiety and issues related to trauma. She also has worked with parents on parenting approaches to help with child behaviour issues and parent-child relationships.

Lucy's approach and background

Lucy uses a number of therapeutic approaches in her work with clients including cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) and related approaches such as Mindfulness Based Therapy and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT); child therapies through the age range, attachment based approaches, parenting based approaches, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Interpersonal Therapy techniques, and Transactional Analysis techniques. She often works from a psychodynamic perspective and uses this in conjunction with other models to aid change.

Lucy has a Clinical Doctorate from the University of Edinburgh. She is registered with the Health and Care professions Council (HCPC).

Lucy occasionally teaches on the Clinical Psychology Doctoral Program and Applied Psychology Masters Program at Edinburgh University. She has specific CBT skills in working with psychosis. She also has her own mindfulness practice and is keen to incorporate this into her therapeutic work where she feels it would be beneficial to her clients.
