Tracy is a highly experienced Psychological Therapist. She works with a wide range of issues including anxiety; stress; low mood & depression; anger; grief; self-harm; eating difficulties; co-dependency; and addictions including alcohol & drug abuse. She is able to work with individuals and couples, as well as children, young people and families.
Tracy has over 20 years' experience and training in the field of psychological therapies, mostly undertaken in the USA. She has trained in clinical psychology, and holds both undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications in this area. She also holds an MSc in Marriage, Family and Child Counselling as well as professional qualifications in the area of alcohol and drug abuse. Due to her training and experience, Tracy draws on a range of psychological approaches including cognitive-behaviour therapy (CBT), psychodynamic/systemic therapies, and transactional analysis (TA). She also uses compassion focused approaches and is presently completing an MSc in Mindfulness based at Aberdeen University.
Tracy works in a collaborative and goal-orientated way with clients, agreeing a 'plan' and then using this to structure and focus sessions. She has a friendly, supportive and effective approach. This is demonstrated by her 'outstanding service award' from Benton County Health Department in 2005 for her 'flexibility, compassion and leadership qualities'.
