Tasim Martin, Chartered Psychologist
Tasim is a Chartered Counselling Psychologist. She has worked extensively with adults and adolescents experiencing mental health crisis, and those with long-term difficulties with relationships and their emotions, who engage in impulsive, self-damaging behaviours (such as self-harm and substance misuse). She is also experienced in the following areas: anxiety and panic; depression; effects of childhood sexual abuse; domestic abuse; family and relationship issues; lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender issues; self-injury and suicide; trauma and post traumatic stress.
Tasim has worked in a variety of settings including secondary and tertiary care (NHS), the voluntary sector, women's support services, the prison service and in private practice.
Tasim is skilled and experienced in using a range of therapeutic approaches including cognitive-behaviour therapy (CBT) and humanistic/person-centred therapy. She also has specialist training and skills in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy - a variation of CBT developed specifically for people with a diagnosis of borderline personality disorder. She has a particular interest in contemporary 'mindfulness' and 'acceptance' based approaches to CBT.
Tasim charges £65 per session for self funding clients. She has a range of fees for employers and organisations that are available on request.
