C. Leandro Tolmos is an applied psychology practitioner who works with individual adults with a wide range of issues and problems including: anxiety; depression/low mood; stress; abuse and neglect; anger/aggression; assertiveness; autism spectrum disorder; bereavement/grief; eating and body image; gender and sexual identity; life transitions; loneliness; obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD); post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD); relationship concerns; relaxation; self-harm; trauma; and many more issues. 

Leandro has particular experience working with adults going through a diverse range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, career challenges, personality and/or mood disorders, and lived experiences of physical or emotional abuse-trauma. In addition, he has worked extensively with adults navigating migrations or life transitions that may evoke feelings of isolation, loneliness, existential challenges, or identity concerns.

Leandro also offers supervision for fellow practitioners on a one-to-one basis.
 

Leandro's way of working

Leandro believes in building a strong therapeutic relationship with each client in order to provide a warm and welcoming space where his clients can work with their difficult experiences. His counselling/psychotherapy sessions are informed by psychodynamic and person-centred ideas and he aims to tailor his approach to meet the individual needs and preferences of each client. 

Leandro is fluent in Spanish and is happy to work with clients who feel more comfortable speaking in this language.
 

Leandro's background and training

Leadro has over ten years' experience working in a number of roles to support a diverse range of clients. He initially trained as a clinical psychologist in Peru and worked for a number of years there before embarking on a psychotherapy training course in Edinburgh. 

Leandro has a Masters Degree in Counselling & Psychotherapy from The University of Edinburgh and he is in the final year of a PhD in Health Social Sciences in a joint agreement between The University of Edinburgh and KU Leuven. In addition, he trained in Clinical Psychology at the Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicada (Peru).

Leandro is a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). 
 

Leandro's fee
